Grand Village of the Natchez Indians
First occupied in the 13th century, the Grand Village was the principal ceremonial mound center for the Natchez Indians during the period of French colonialism in the lower Mississippi River Valley (1682-1730). Today the site is a National Historic Landmark administrated by the Mississippi Department of Archives and History
